Bring nature to life in your painting —be bold, be curious, and let your passion guide your brush! Look closely—nature is everywhere and alive. Paint a delicate butterfly, a feathery or furry friend or the fiery glow of a sunset. Blend soft greens in a meadow, dash bright strokes for wildflowers, focus on the soft colours of a winter landscape or swirl blues in a flowing river. Notice how light dances on water, in trees, how shadows play a part in everything that nature has created and how every season changes and brings new wonders. This is an active class where students choose their favourite subject matter to paint. Judy Mayer Grieve Materials List for Art Classes

Out of stockWhether you have been to Ireland, are planning a trip soon, or just share a love of infinite greens and greys, join us! I have traveled to Ireland many times and love to paint the amazing landscapes there. Paint with me, using the photo references I will supply. The greens and overcast skies are some of the most challenging aspects to capture. From coastal harbours to old castles, villages and majestic, tree lined roads, we will create some fabulous paintings. I will demonstrate my painting process with ample time in class to paint your version of the scene. As always, feedback and encouragement are guaranteed at every step of the journey. We are very excited to welcome Stephanie's Creative Courage class to OAS! This is a facilitated studio series that focuses on artistic exploration, finding inspiration, and nurturing your creative consciousness. Supported by a collaborative environment, students will be introduced to techniques in composition, colour, and expression. Bring your favorite supplies -- from drawing to painting to mixed media, from landscape to still life to figurative -- and more. Chose your own adventure – whether it’s a brand new project, or one already in progress that you would like support working on. One of the sessions during the series will introduce an unconventional approach or technique that students might wish to add to their pieces. We will also discuss the techniques of a few chosen artists. This mentorship series is perfect for people who have taken a few beginners' drawing or painting classes.
