    This course is structured around process. Each class will focuses on one mental state of painting. Students will learn when to push, when to wait, and when to stop. Week one- Seeing and Block-in. Week two- Development 1, Form, Colour and Confidence. Week three- Development 2, Atmosphere, Space and Restraint.     Still Life Painting (oil/acrylic) Wednesdays (6-9pm) Tritan Braho (Level 2+) Mar. 25 – May 13 (8 WEEKS)

    With a focus on the principles of composition, this course delves into the importance of visual set up, values and brush strokes to create aesthetic and emotive paintings in a classical manner. You’ll work initially to create pencil sketches that will evolve, with the instructor’s guidance, into fully developed paintings. With attention to light and values, colour, shape, placement and proportion of elements and the harmony of brush strokes, you’ll learn how to develop works that are visually strong as well as both fulfilling and meaningful. Some previous painting experience is helpful.  Materials List
