You have been painting in your chosen medium, and now you’d like to move on to explore portraiture. This workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of drawing and painting portraits, starting with laying down the basic structure of the head and understanding how a face is built. You will learn how to construct facial features from a photo, with reasonable proportions, develop confident line work, and apply shading to create form and depth using pencil and charcoal. Follow-up with painting and glazing along the form with whatever medium is most familiar to you. Pamela is an artist with a very broad and beautiful range. You can get a sense of her work on her Instagram page, but you need to meet her in person to appreciate the passion and personality of this lovely and engaging artist. Spend a few hours with her, and you will be eager for spring to come so you can take a full class series with her!
