In this workshop. discover how colour, especially in spring, works in developing a vibrant composition. You and Bonnie will paint a spring themed piece that is inspired by the beauty of Niagara -On-the-Lake , based on a characteristic street scene. We will explore the amazing light and colour dynamics; transparent watercolour, and the incorporation of mixed medium will enhance our theme. Our subject will exemplify full colour, and “how” to incorporate the beautiful characteristics of Niagara-on-Lake. Gouache and pen and ink as mixed medium options will be incorporated into the watercolour pigments. Bonnie will show you many techniques so that your composition provides a purposeful and unique painting experience. If colour excites you, and you are looking to master some new techniques while further exploring the tried and true, then this workshop is for you! Atmospheric perspective through colour will also be explored where spring painting becomes passion. Bonnie’s hands-on approach is sure to please! OAS congratulates Bonnie’s incredible achievement.  Her stunning piece, “Waiting for Spring” is among those chosen to hang in The Royal Trust collection for  King Charles 111.

The final selection of twenty-five paintings marks the culmination of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour’s extraordinary 40-year special project, which will successfully place 100 watercolours into the prestigious Royal Collection Trust at Windsor Castle.

Bonnie Steinberg (CSPWC SCA TWS IWS) is a practicing artist and a popular art teacher. Transparent watercolour is Bonnie’s medium of choice, now with the recent addition of mixed medium. Bonnie’s watercolours encompass a variety of subject matter, with architectural detail being her latest achievement. Bonnie’s use of high- keyed colour and dramatic light are the trademarks of her work. A graduate of York University, Bonnie received her Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts. Bonnie is also an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Canadian Artists,  and a signature member of the Toronto Watercolor Society.
