Join this 6-week course to learn techniques and principles of wet-on-wet pet portrait painting. Connie will walk you through each step of making pet portraits — from recognizing and simplifying shapes, to building values, getting the details of the features, and rendering fur textures with bold brushstrokes. The first and second half of this course will have a different focus. The first three weeks will focus on the foundational principles and techniques behind the direct painting method. Connie Lee is well organized. She holds the class with a clear structure. With the exception of a longer period in the first class, she devotes the first 30 minutes or so to introduce new concepts and reinforce previous considerations she had introduced earlier. Thereafter she demonstrates with paint on canvas and then allows us to get on with the painting. She circulates and gives comments and advice as she goes around. She has a pleasant and quiet, but enthusiastic personality. Connie demonstrates a clear knowledge of her discipline.
