Fibre Arts (Fabric) Wall Sculpture *many materials included* Sun.Oct.5 (12:30-4:30 pm) Kat Currie (all welcome) Studio Two

Price range: $65.00 through $75.00

12 in stock

This workshop is all about manipulating and sculpting fabrics with the use of liquid adhesive to mold fabrics into permanent shapes that are mounted on wall canvas for permanent display.  The participants will paint two pieces of fabric and then manipulate these pieces of fabric before mounting them. Completely new to OAS, this tactile art is so satisfying in its process, and the resulting pieces provide beautiful lines and flowing effects. Every participant will receive a handout outlining the whole process so they can replicate it on their own. (You’ll want to do it again!)

Kat has been stitching since her early teens and is mostly self taught.  Crocheting and knitting have been a big part of her fibre journey. In recent years, her fibre art has been influenced by a number of classes and workshops with some notable fibre artists, such as Sue Stone and Meredith Woolnough. With the addition of painting and mark making, her fibre art is now branching out in a new and exciting direction. Currently, Kat is a member of the Oakville Fibre Artists and also Stitch Club through the auspices of Textile Artists.Org.
