Join OCAD grad (a.k.a. 'art nerd') Megan for five mornings of paintings inspired by iconic artists. A variety of mediums will be used to create pieces in the style of Picasso (cubism collaged faces), dot painting (Yavio Kusama), Pop Art (incorporating bright colours), Van Gogh's Sunflowers (impressionism, using tissue paper), and a step-by-step landscape from the Group of Seven. All materials are included, just dress for art!

This workshop takes the Plein Air (outdoor painting) approach and applies it to the urban environment with the intention of revealing to students the fresh beauty and excitement to be found in these unconventional places. Fluid Art, is a fun and expressive way to get creative! It might just be the creative art form that you have been looking for. No experience is necessary! Come join us, as you play and experiment with acrylic paints in this fun interactive workshop. In this course, AJ will teach you the fundamentals of fluid art: making pouring medium and mixing acrylic paints while experimenting with multiple ways of creating fluid art, including open flip cup, imitation stained glass, chain pulls, strainer flowers, and blow outs. Be captivated by the process; the colours, and the magic and movement. The iPhone has a very unique camera system that most people do not understand. Knowing many of the key technical features will allow artists to take better photos of scenes or objects that they want to sketch, paint, or display on social (and other) media. Participants will learn composition rules and iPhone editing techniques to create amazing photos. Artists will leave this five hour, two evening workshop with a booklet of instructions for later reference. This course is suitable for people with an iPhone 11 or higher.

This unique form of camera-less photography dates back to 1842 and uses sunlight, treated paper and found objects and botanicals to create striking deep blue images. Participants will learn the steps to creating their own images, exposing them to the sunlight and watching them develop to reveal unique works of art. Suitable for any experience level. This workshop will take place both indoors and outside so participants are encouraged to bring a hat and water.

Back AGAIN by popular demand! Dedicated time to just paint with others in Studio One. Get out of the house, and take your Monday evenings to create anything you wish in this completely informal setting for optimal comfort and focus. This studio time, open to members and non-members, is the perfect opportunity to work on pieces from classes you're taking, or whatever you like. These precious hours involve no formal instruction whatsoever, but feel free to offer / receive feedback and encouragement from others, (as you wish). Come and go at your leisure; there's no pressure to arrive on time or stay to the end.
