3-Week Course | 120 minutes per session
Week 1: Getting Started & First Designs
Get comfortable with the Canva interface, explore templates, and learn how to customize layouts. Students will create their first social media post while learning how to add text, images, colours, and save or share designs confidently.
Week 2: Design Basics & Visual Confidence
Learn the foundations of good design, including layout, colour, fonts, and visual hierarchy. Students will apply these principles to create a polished business card, postcard, poster, or flyer, with time for refinement and feedback.
Week 3: Photos, Video & Final Project
Explore Canva’s photo editing tools, elements, and simple video creation for Instagram Reels, Stories, or YouTube. Students will then work on a personalized final project of their choice, building confidence and independence to continue designing beyond the course.
By the end of the course, participants will have a small collection of finished designs and the skills needed to create their own professional-looking visuals with ease.
Materials required: You will need to bring a laptop or iPad to the course.
A free Canva account is sufficient for this course. (Canva Pro is optional / not required.)
