Paint (and draw, at your option) fantastic, strange, and unique creatures in this 6 week watercolour workshop. Designing a fantastic creature often includes a mix of animals, insects, mythology, and even plant life for inspiration. In this workshop you will learn ink pen and watercolour techniques to create texture and form. A wide variety of original sketches are provided for you to embellish and paint. You may also opt to learn to design and draw your OWN creatures to paint. The themes of this workshop are inspired by the illustrations of Stan Manoukian, Tony DiTerlizil, and Holly Black, and through the use of provided sketches and references (or your own if you prefer) to bring fantasy to life!

Here is some feedback from Lindsay’s OAS students:

“Thank you very much for arranging this class taught by Lindsay Pearson. Lindsay is an excellent teacher.  She was so well prepared for each class with interesting and varied nature themes.   She provided her own drawings ready for each student to choose one in an assortment of choices, so fascinating for any nature lover.   Her demos are beautiful paintings in the making, plus she has good suggestions as questions come up.  This class was very enjoyable and informative at any level.  Thanks to Lindsay for all the work that went into the preparation, I really appreciate all she did to make this class so enjoyable and informative.”

Lindsay is a 4th year illustration student at Sheridan College, OAS instructor, and OAS intern.
Based in Oakville, Lindsay is an illustrator and 2D artist with experience in both traditional and digital media. Being detail oriented with a passion for storytelling, she draws inspiration from folklore and fairy tales, as well as nature, to create scientific style illustrations, imaginative environments, and whimsical creatures.
“A lot of what inspires me comes from the desire to create a sense of wonder and whimsy. I feel that as we grow up, things tend to lose the magic they once had when we were little. I want to keep that magic and imagination alive and inspire that in others with my work.”
