OAS 60th Anniversary Show
“Connections”
In celebration of Oakville Art Society’s 60th anniversary year, we will present “Connections,” a first-time collaboration between OAS and Oakville Museum. The venue will be the Main Gallery at Queen Elizabeth Park Community & Cultural Centre for three weeks from October 25 – November 14, 2025.
Our exhibition will be a vibrant celebration of local talent and history – our artists’ creativity will meet Oakville’s history. Each artwork will celebrate our theme, in landscape, still life, portraiture or abstract form. Artwork created by OAS members will be displayed alongside carefully selected pieces from Oakville Museum’s costume and textile collection, offering an intriguing sense of the scenes and subjects captured in the paintings. Pairing these two forms of expression will allow visitors to explore the intersection of artistic vision and historical fashions and craftsmanship.

Interpreting our theme, “Connections”
For 60 years, Oakville Art Society has been bringing community members together to share ideas, learn and enjoy other artists’ company. Over the years many friendships and shared experiences have enriched the lives of members. Our anniversary is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the connections we’ve made and continue to make.
Artworks could explore bonds between friends, neighbors, generations, and nature. Artists may draw inspiration from family histories, cultural heritage, or the shared experiences that define our community. With the inclusion of Oakville Museum’s historical costumes and textiles, artists also have the opportunity to highlight connections between past and present. This theme invites artists to celebrate continuity, honour legacy, and imagine future connections yet to be made.
