Fantasy illustration often includes a mix of reality and imagination. Through using references of animals, insects, plant life and existing creatures from folklore for inspiration, you will learn pencil crayon and watercolour techniques to create texture and form. The themes are inspired by folklore, fairy tales, mythology, and your own original creations. Through the use of provided reference images (or your own if you prefer) you will be able to create your own little world.

Here is some feedback about Lindsay:

“Thank you very much for arranging this class taught by Lindsay Pearson. Lindsay is an excellent teacher.  She was so well prepared for each class with interesting and varied nature themes.   She provided her own drawings ready for each student to choose one in an assortment of choices, so fascinating for any nature lover.   Her demos are beautiful paintings in the making, plus she has good suggestions as questions come up.  This class was very enjoyable and informative at any level.  Thanks to Lindsay for all the work that went into the preparation, I really appreciate all she did to make this class so enjoyable and informative.”

Based in Oakville, Lindsay is an illustrator and 2D artist with experience in both traditional and digital media. Being detail oriented with a passion for storytelling, she draws inspiration from folklore and fairy tales, as well as nature, to create scientific style illustrations, imaginative environments, and whimsical creatures.
“A lot of what inspires me comes from the desire to create a sense of wonder and whimsy. I feel that as we grow up, things tend to lose the magic they once had when we were little. I want to keep that magic and imagination alive and inspire that in others with my work.”
