The perfect way to end the week and start the weekend — relaxing with the wonderful Lindsay for a couple of hours. Storybook illustration often includes a mix of full page and spot illustrations (along with text) and in this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore both. The themes of this workshop are inspired by the illustrations of Beatrix Potter and Arnold Lobel, and through the use of provided sketches and references (or your own if you prefer) you will bring fun animal characters and their environments to life!

Here is some feedback from Lindsay’s late fall class (Dec. 2024)

“Thank you very much for arranging this class taught by Lindsay Pearson. Lindsay is an excellent teacher.  She was so well prepared for each class with interesting and varied nature themes.   She provided her own drawings ready for each student to choose one in an assortment of choices, so fascinating for any nature lover.   Her demos are beautiful paintings in the making, plus she has good suggestions as questions come up.  This class was very enjoyable and informative at any level.  Thanks to Lindsay for all the work that went into the preparation, I really appreciate all she did to make this class so enjoyable and informative.”

Lindsay Pearson Artist Statement:
Based in Oakville, Lindsay is an illustrator and 2D artist with experience in both traditional and digital media. Being detail oriented with a passion for storytelling, she draws inspiration from folklore and fairy tales, as well as nature, to create scientific style illustrations, imaginative environments, and whimsical creatures.
“A lot of what inspires me comes from the desire to create a sense of wonder and whimsy. I feel that as we grow up, things tend to lose the magic they once had when we were little. I want to keep that magic and imagination alive and inspire that in others with my work.”
