This course involves individualized journalling sessions — all levels welcome!
In this course, creatives will be led through a series of activities designed to expand their artistic repertoire and develop their style. Whether you’re an artist who wishes to further develop your skills, or a beginner artist interested in creating a personal record, this course is for you. Through the use of weekly drawing, painting and collage challenges participants will be invited to push their boundaries and increase artistic risk in the low stakes confines of an art journal. Watch out! This is addictive! A webpage is kept with the course for your convenience.
Materials List for Beyond the Sketchbook
Gouache or acrylics – Winsor Newton, Heineman (some such brand)
OR General assortment of quality paints you like to use like watercolour or acrylic AND appropriate substrate journal or paper
8” x 10” Art Journal or Sketchbook
Palette and brushes
Narrow artists’ tape
Pencils
General Assortment of mark making tools like markers and/or pencil crayons and/or acrylic pens
Acrylic Medium or Modge Podge
Glue stick
Scissors or exacto knife
Table Cover
As we go you will be asked to bring in other objects, like photos, recycled paper etc. – nothing more to purchase unless you wish to.
