This class is 8 weeks and runs Jan. 9 to Feb.27

This is a continuation of our (sold out) series of classes of the same name. Current students and newcomers alike are welcome to join this four week course.

In this class we explore landscape painting techniques and subjects. Each class will focus on a specific subject, such as mountains, valleys, forests, rivers, skies, wildlife, and more. The aim is to capture the beauty, mood, and atmosphere of the outdoor environment, focusing on elements like composition, light, color, texture, and perspective to convey a sense of space and depth. Landscape paintings can range from realistic portrayals to more abstract interpretations, with styles including classical, impressionistic, expressionistic, and contemporary approaches. Students may work from memory, sketches, or photographs to create their compositions. Landscape painting has been a prominent genre throughout art history, with artists finding inspiration in the natural world and interpreting it in diverse ways. Bringing reference material to this class is highly recommended.

Materials: See list. Canvas or Board, Watercolour, Acrylic and / or Water soluble Oil.
