Level 2+
Instructor: Judy Mayer-Grieve
Wednesday mornings, 9:30am-12:30pm
This class is 8 weeks and runs January 8 to February 26
This is a continuation of the popular class (of the same name) offered in the fall term. Return students and newcomers alike are welcome to join this exploration.
This class is about the exploration of various artistic materials and techniques to create unique and diverse art. Students are encouraged to experiment with the option of personal reference material of choice and / or subject matter, such as landscape, abstract, figurative, portrait, and mixed media and to employ recycled materials for inspiration. Your instructor will encourage you to explore and guide you through the various stages of development of your artwork. Experiment with mixing traditional mediums such as painting, drawing and non-traditional materials – found objects, textiles, collage elements and more will be celebrated. The emphasis is on creative exploration, allowing students to break with tradition and discover inspiration through new exciting ways of creating visual art.
Materials: Canvas or board, Water soluble Oil, Watercolour, Acrylic paint and mediums, gesso for building textures (and anything else you’d like to bring to your experience), from recycled to upcycled pieces of your choosing. Absolutely anything goes!
