Painting sand and rocks that look convincing can be quite a challenge for beginners. In this workshop Diane illustrates how to successfully paint realistic rocks under water, floating leaves, and sea glass. Learn to use masks, create washes, and how to render details to express the magic of light. She walks you through each step of design and technique: colours, shapes, textures, shadows, and how to save whites for added sparkle. Lots of demos and individual attention that help you hone your painting skills. This workshop suitable for beginners with some experience. Materials List

About Diane McEntee

Diane has been painting in different mediums for over 40 years and has for the last 20 years focused on watercolour. She taught watercolour workshops in Maple Ridge, BC and Burlington, ON as well as private classes in Burlington and Niagara. “I’ve been fortunate to take classes with renowned artists in Australia, Kansas and Texas, not to mention several provinces in Canada. I love that you can be completely creative with colour vividness through glazing as well as transparency, and the portability of supplies. Whether painting portraiture, landscapes or still life, watercolour can be used with versatility.”
