Wildlife painting, especially birds, is one of the most loved subjects for watercolour artists. In this workshop Michelle will have you explore on wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques as you paint the joy of chirping sparrows with a limited colour palette. Gain confidence in the use of delicate brush strokes and discover how to leave out overly realistic details. Using the provided image, Michelle will guide you step-by-step as you learn how to break down your subject into simple and achievable steps. Paint with freedom as you embrace the flowing nature of watercolour and allow your unique expression to flourish! This workshop is best suited to beginners with experience.

About Michelle Nettleton

Capturing special moments is what motivates Michelle. From dancing, vibrant, light-filled passages to richly colored transparent darks, Nettleton uses the fluidity of watercolour paint to expertly render florals, landscapes, animals, and people. She is enthralled with the spontaneity of paint applied to paper and the natural glow created by transparent layers of colour applied over a white surface. Possessing a degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education, Michelle has painted for over 50 years. She is an award winning Burlington, Ontario artist.
