In this hands-on session, you’ll explore:
- fundamental techniques and methods for working with watercolour and gouache
- methods for transferring drawings onto watercolour paper
- strategies for composing engaging water-based illustrations
- techniques for layering and blending colours to achieve desired effects
You’ll leave with a completed painting and the skills to continue exploring these mediums in your own practice.
About the Instructor:
Laura Ruiz is a versatile artist and dedicated educator with 12 years of experience in watercolours, oils, acrylics, and mixed media. As the owner of ArtLab Canada, she has established herself in the Burlington art community, offering personalized instruction and organizing creative events. Laura’s teaching philosophy emphasizes personal expression and hands-on learning, fostering a supportive environment for students to explore their artistic potential. Her diverse background, including studies at the Toronto School of Art and North Hills Art Center in Pittsburgh, PA, informs her comprehensive approach to art education.
