Explore collage in a fun, non-critical environment. Begin with creating different papers in your chosen colour palette to use in your collage. We’ll play with techniques, values, different papers and various mark making tools. Then you’ll use your papers (plus other paper types) to make your collages. Preparing several small collages at the same time allows for improved creativity (and less overthinking). Relax, have fun, and take home a finished page of small collages suitable for framing, plus materials for further collage making.

Beverly Allen is a printmaker and instructor, exploring different methods of incorporating the
forms of the natural world into her art. She prints, dyes, sews, steams and simmers plants to
capture their fragile evocative beauty on paper and textiles. She loves learning and sharing the
methods and techniques she’s learned. Her work has been shown and is in collections in
Canada, the United States, and Europe. She’s proud to have been represented in the 2018
Canadian Delegation at the Art Capital in Paris, France. You can see some of her work on Instagram @NomadBev
