Join this 8-week course to learn techniques and principles behind the art of wet-on-wet painting. We will explore various concepts that are essential ingredients for successful portrait painting — getting the right proportions, mixing colours to create skin tones, strategically placing facial features, and understanding planes and shapes of the form. The first and second half will have a different focus. Part one will include proportions, value, colour mixing, brush techniques, and demonstrations. The latter half will be comprised of one Alla Prima painting each week.

Connie is a visual artist born and raised in South Korea, who enjoys discovering individuality through portrait painting. She believes that everyone has essential character, and she would express that through her honest observation and creative interpretation. She finds an enormous joy in capturing interesting personalities of people and animals in the flowy richness of oil colours, employing traditional art principles.
