Right to Learn:
All students have the right to learn in a positive and creative environment. If any student disrupts the learning of others, or is disrespectful towards others, he or she will be given one warning by the instructor. In the case of a child the parent/guardian will be notified in writing by the program coordinator. Failure to correct the disruptive behaviour will result in the student's removal from the course with no reimbursement of fees.
Attending Children’s Classes:
Start dates are estimates only and may be subject to change.
Children who may be slightly older than the 7 to 13 age range may attend children’s class provided they understand that they are in a class with much younger children. We discourage parents from enrolling children younger than 7, as we have found it seldom meets the needs of the child, instructor or other students.
Start dates are estimates only and may be subject to change. Adult classes are geared to ages 18+. Adult students provide their own supplies. Please note that NO turpentine/linseed oil based solvents will be permitted. Oil painters must clean their brushes with vegetable oil or soap & water. Alternately, water-based oil paints are available at all art suppliers.
OAS Copyright Policy and Submission Guidelines
Oakville ArtSociety strongly believes in nurturing creativity and allowing an artist’s expression to be enjoyed by the community at large through the various events and exhibitions organized throughout the year. To that effect, we request that all artists submit original artwork to our juried shows, exhibitions and gallery events. Submission of artwork will be considered a declaration that it is not a copy or an infringement of copyright of another artist’s painting, photograph or design. Members may not enter a piece that was created in a workshop or class, except for the Student Show. OAS reserves the right to reject submissions that appear to be in violation of these standards. Please note that images of accepted artwork may be used on our website, posters and in other promotional materials, both printed and digital.
